OLIE on Site: Safety Mission
A free educational pixel-art game that shows, in just a few minutes, why hard hats matter on a construction site. You guide OLIE, find workers without PPE, coach them and send the evidence to OPTIKON.
- Free educational game
- No install, no sign-up
- 1 to 5 minute rounds
- Mobile, tablet and desktop
The mission in 3 steps
- Find: Walk around the site and look for the worker without a hard hat. The radar points to the nearest one.
- Coach: Get close and hold A to coach the worker and record the evidence.
- Send to OPTIKON: The evidence goes to OPTIKON, the worker puts the hard hat back on and the safety index goes up.
What is OLIE?
OLIE is the OPTIKON mobile monitoring unit: a video-monitoring tower on wheels with autonomous solar power, LTE/5G transmission and edge computer vision (edge AI). It is moved to the work front, including remote sites without grid power, and monitors the area with a camera and artificial intelligence.
- Continuous solar power with battery autonomy
- Multi-carrier LTE/5G connectivity and secure transmission
- Edge AI for instant local alerts
- Modular structure for fast deployment
In the game, OLIE gets arms, a face and moves on its own to become the mission character. It is an illustrative representation: on a real site, the tower stays in place and OPTIKON AI detects PPE through the cameras.
An educational game about PPE
OLIE on Site is educational content by OPTIKON EXXATA. It turns a serious topic, wearing a hard hat correctly, into a quick and positive experience: nobody is punished, every worker is coached and the site becomes safer. Use it in onboarding, daily safety talks, safety weeks, trade shows and training sessions.
How to play

Three game modes
Mission
Levels in sequence, Pac-Man style: each level has a bigger site, more obstacles, workers and new PPE (vest, gloves and harness on scaffolds), and an ever tighter clock. From level 6 on, workers without PPE run away from OLIE. Every 4 levels there is a do-or-die surprise inspection: reach everyone in time or lose a battery and try again. Passing gives a battery back. You have 3 batteries.
Time Attack
24h shift: workers keep taking off their hard hats. Every 30 seconds the shift levels up with bonus points and a new twist: time per case drops to 4 seconds, more alerts and new crews appear. Then workers get faster, start running away from OLIE, hoisted loads drop around the site, it grows with vehicle lanes and the night shift begins. You have 3 lives: every missed alert costs one, and a battery recharges every 3 minutes. How far can you go?
Daily challenge
The same shift for every player on the same day, with a surprise modifier (all-night shift, double points, giant site…) and its own leaderboard that resets at midnight.
What the game teaches
Hard hats save lives
Hard hats protect the head from falling objects and impacts. On site, they must be worn at all times.
The right, certified PPE
PPE must fit the risk, carry a Certificate of Approval (CA) and be provided by the employer at no cost (Brazilian NR-6).
Inspect before use
No cracks in the shell, adjusted suspension and chin strap fastened when working at height, together with a full-body harness (NR-35).
Coach, do not punish
Nobody is an enemy: the worker is coached and goes back to work wearing a hard hat. Explaining the risk changes behavior.
Watch out for machines and loads
In advanced levels, vehicle lanes and hoisted loads remind players that people traffic must be signposted and kept apart, and that nobody should walk under a suspended load.
Time-stamped evidence
Every capture becomes recorded evidence. Date and time records help the safety team act where it matters.
